Shamrocks Add Another Piece to Staff

The General Manager of the Victoria Sr. B Shamrocks dusted off the rotary telephone, called the switchboard operator and got themselves a Shamrock Alumni to join the 2023 Sr. B Shamrocks coaching staff.

All kidding aside; in a day and age when time is limited and valuable, many coaches of youth and adult sports find the time to give back to the sport, the participants and the associations they represent. Case in point, Darren Blackwell. Darren has spent many a day, many hours a week and too many years to count, coaching youth field lacrosse for Pacific Rim Field Lacrosse, Saanich Minor Lacrosse, Peninsula Lacrosse Association , Victoria-Esquimalt Women's U15 box lacrosse and now we are happy introduce him as a coach of the Victoria Sr. B Shamrocks.

While his illustrious career with the Victoria Shamrocks didn't quite start in the telegraph era, but it has been noted that many of our coaches today within the Shamrock family have ties to and been coached by who many call "one of the best to stand behind a Shamrock bench", the infamous Chris Hall.

Darren takes pride in his coaching and will give his coaching idol constant kudos for the coach he has become. He is looking forward to the challenge of coaching at the Senior level and is fitting in with the coaching staff just fine and getting acquainted to the new and returning players.

The next game for the Victoria Sr. B Shamrocks is Wednesday May 24th at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre @ 7:30pm as the Shamrocks host their island rival Nanaimo Timbermen. Doors open 40 minutes before game time. Entrance at Gate #3 at the back of the arena.

Youth / Students: $8.00 (Ages 13 - 20)
